Not all the knowledge is valuable all the time

There was a mild air in the Tames River. Peter, an educated man who has knowledge of several topics, was enjoying the journey by boat. The cloudy sky, beautiful nature, and the soft sound of the water were creating a charming moment in the boat with two-person, Peter, and the boatman. The boatman was looking like a messy poor person who doesn’t have enough ability to buy new clothes. The boat-riding was his profession and he was an expert on doing that. Peter was proud of his knowledge and expertise in math and astronomy of that time while the boatman didn’t have any idea about any of these two. Peter studied these from his masters and by reading several books.

While enjoying the fresh air, suddenly peter decided to ask the boatman a question. Without taking a moment, he asked, “Hey! Do you have any idea about algebra? What is the value of pie?” The poor boatman got ashamed. Thinking for some seconds, he replied with a negative movement of the head. He has not the ability to eat three meals per day let alone get educated. Getting this kind of reply from the boatman, Peter became happy and threw a smile of negligence at him. He also said the boatman that one-third of his life was imperfect as he didn’t know the answer to these questions. The boatman didn’t feel anything because this was very much normal that he won’t know the answer to these. But he got ashamed by the negligence of Peter.

After some moment, with a smile of insolence, Peter again decided to ask another question to the boatman. This time the question was about astronomy. Peter asked the boatman if he had the knowledge about the universe, the stars, the moon, and other planets or not. This time the boatman replied, “I only know about the universe, stars, and moon. Are there any other planets more?” This answer proved the illiteracy of the Boatman about astronomy and again he got ashamed. Now Peter defined two-third of the whole life of the boatman as imperfect. The boatman again got sad about not having any knowledge about these. Peter continued the negligence smile on his face and started thinking of him as one of the wisest persons in the world.

Everything was going well until that time. Peter enjoyed the gloomy atmosphere and tried to recall his knowledge about astronomy. But suddenly, the atmosphere started going adversely. The cloudy sky became blacker and both of them started listening to the sound of thundering from the sky. This was a very much common moment for the boatman as he experienced that kind of situation over a hundred times. But Peter got feared. His fear was increasing rapidly as a huge storm was becoming visible to them all of a sudden. That portion of the river was too wide to reach the bank of the river fast. But the expert boatman tried harder to move the boat as fast as possible. By seeing a huge fear on Peter’s face, the boatman finally asked a question him. The question was if Peter didn’t know how to swim. The afraid Peter replied negatively at that time. And that was the time for the boatman. Then the boatman smiled and replied that whole of Peter’s life is imperfect.

The storm started going stronger and suddenly the boat of them sank in the river just in a 10 meters distance from the bank. Peter started sinking and begging for help. But there was none to help him at that time. Suddenly he got a supportive hand, pulling him up of the water and dragging towards the bank. This hand was of the boatman who was trying to drag Peter towards the bank of the river for a safe zone. The Boatman tried heart and soul as this was very much tough for him to pull a person in that atmosphere on the water. But finally, the boatman was succeeded to do so. Then he took Peter to a safe place for normalizing his mental and physical condition.

After the storm ends, and the mental condition of Peter become normal, the Boatman told Peter, “Not all the knowledge is valuable all the time.”
